Composition: Al-Mg-Si alloy with Mg (0.25–0.6%), Si (1.0–1.5%), and trace Mn/Cu/Cr
for balanced strength and formability.
2) Mechanical Properties
Tensile strength: 200–260 MPa (annealed); up to 300+ MPa after T4/T6 heat treatment.
Elongation: ≥20% (excellent for deep drawing).
Corrosion Resistance: Good resistance to atmospheric and stress corrosion; suitable for
surface treatments (anodizing/painting).
Weldability: Compatible with MIG/TIG welding with minimal strength loss.
Heat Treatment: Strengthened via T4 (solution heat treatment) or T6 (precipitation hardening).
