Corrosion Resistance EN AW-5754 (AlMg3) Aluminum Alloy for Enclosed Trailers



EN AW-5754 (equivalent to AlMg3) is a widely used 5xxx-series aluminum alloy in Europe

and other regions for enclosed trailers (cargo trailers, caravans, etc.). It offers an excellent

balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and weldability, making it ideal for structural and

non-structural trailer components.

Contains ~3% Magnesium (Mg), forming a protective oxide layer.

Better than 6xxx alloys (e.g., 6061) in harsh environments.

(2) Good Strength-to-Weight Ratio


Stronger than 5052 but lighter than steel.

Suitable for walls, roofs, and flooring without excessive weight.

(3) Excellent Weldability & Formability


Easily welded (no cracking issues, unlike 6xxx alloys).

Can be rolled, bent, and stamped into complex shapes.
